TrustExits Fees, Pricing & Cost (2026): What Sellers Actually Pay
Etienne Hurpin, Founder of TrustExits · · 13 min read
"How much does TrustExits cost?" is the wrong question if you only read the headline percentage. Sellers care about net proceeds after escrow, whether buyers pay friction fees, and whether listing costs stack before you close. TrustExits charges sellers 8% all-in on success with Escrow.com included. Buyers pay $0. Founding sellers in the first 50 listings lock 5% for the listing life.
This is the canonical pricing explainer for TrustExits, operated by Luminadeus LLC. For live tier tables and competitor comparisons, start at /fees. Listing plans and what is included
TrustExits Standard listing is built for profitable Shopify and DTC store exits. No upfront listing fee on Standard. You pay the success commission only when the deal closes.
Included in the listing flow:
- Profit verification pass (Shopify/Stripe revenue reconciled with ad spend and COGS to TTM SDE)
- Listing page on TrustExits marketplace
- Escrow.com coordination with fee absorbed in seller commission
- Buyer access at $0 platform fee
- Channel dependency flags on full dossiers (Meta concentration, GMC health, transfer readiness)
Methodology detail: /methodology. Selling process: /sell.
8% all-in: what it covers
"All-in" means one seller commission line at close. No separate Escrow.com invoice to the seller on standard TrustExits deals per /fees.
The 8% covers:
- Marketplace success fee
- Escrow.com fee (included - not billed separately to seller)
- Profit verification infrastructure and listing support
It does not cover your personal tax on the sale, legal review of the asset purchase agreement, or third-party transfer costs outside platform scope (domain registrars, some app subscriptions, etc.).
Founding 5%: first 50 listings
The first 50 listings on TrustExits lock 5% seller all-in for the life of that listing. Minimum commission $500. Escrow still included. Buyers still pay $0.
Founding rate is material on sub-$200k closes:
- $50k close: $2,500 commission vs $4,000 at 8% - saves $1,500
- $200k close: $10,000 commission vs $16,000 at 8% - saves $6,000
Founding slots are limited. Confirm availability when you start at /sell or /estimate.
Minimum commission: $800 standard, $500 founding
On very small closes, percentage math can fall below the floor. TrustExits applies:
- $800 minimum on standard 8% listings
- $500 minimum on founding 5% listings
Example: a $8,000 close at 8% would math to $640 - the $800 minimum applies instead. A $12,000 close at 8% = $960, still above minimum so 8% applies normally.
Buyers pay $0 - why it matters
Some marketplaces push buyer subscriptions or platform fees that slow LOIs. TrustExits buyers pay $0 platform fee. That removes one friction point on the buy side.
Seller-side commission is still the economic cost of the marketplace - but transparent buyer pricing helps serious acquirers move faster on profit-verified listings.
Worked example: net at $50k close
Profitable Shopify brand. SDE ~$4k/month. Clears at $50,000 purchase price.
| Line item | TrustExits 8% standard | TrustExits 5% founding |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase price | $50,000 | $50,000 |
| Seller commission (all-in) | -$4,000 (8%) | -$2,500 (5%) |
| Listing fee | $0 | $0 |
| Escrow (seller) | $0 (included) | $0 (included) |
| Net to seller (before tax) | $46,000 | $47,500 |
Compare to Flippa self-serve (public tiers - verify live): ~$5,000 success fee + ~$49 listing + ~$600 escrow share = ~$44,351 net. Empire Flippers (public ~15%, $10k min often cited - verify live): $40,000 net.
Worked example: net at $200k close
Shopify home goods brand. SDE $48k/year. Clears at $200,000 (~4.2x SDE with clean channel mix).
| Line item | TrustExits 8% standard | TrustExits 5% founding |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase price | $200,000 | $200,000 |
| Seller commission (all-in) | -$16,000 (8%) | -$10,000 (5%) |
| Listing fee | $0 | $0 |
| Escrow (seller) | $0 (included) | $0 (included) |
| Net to seller (before tax) | $184,000 | $190,000 |
Compare to Flippa self-serve (verify live): ~$20,000 success + ~$499 listing + ~$2,400 escrow = ~$177,101 net. Empire Flippers (~15% public tier): $170,000 net. TrustExits 8% nets $6,900-$14,000 more than those rows in this scenario.

Costs TrustExits does not charge
- Upfront listing fee on Standard plan ($0)
- Separate Escrow.com line to seller (included in commission)
- Buyer platform fee ($0 to buyers)
- Monthly listing subscription (unlike some SaaS-centric marketplaces)
When the fee is due - and when it is not
TrustExits success commission is due on successful close - when the deal funds through escrow and the asset transfers per agreement terms. No success fee if the listing does not close.
You may invest time in profit verification prep and buyer diligence regardless of venue. That time cost exists on every marketplace. Profit verification upfront reduces retrade risk that functions as a hidden fee on revenue-only listings.
Verdict: is TrustExits pricing fair for your exit?
| Seller profile | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Profitable Shopify $50k-$500k close | Strong fit - 8% all-in with escrow and profit verification beats stacked competitor fees on net. |
| Founding slot available | Excellent fit - 5% locked for listing life. |
| Sub-$10k micro-exit | Minimum commission matters - run math vs Flippa liquidity play. |
| $700k+ roll-up | Compare brokers - fee % matters less than buyer access. |
